Thomastown Auto Parts was the first auto parts recycler in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, known as Mahoney’s Road Auto Salvage, founded by brothers John Chatfield and Ron Chatfield.
After relocating to their current premises at 300 Mahoney’s Rd Thomastown in 1974 and seeing other auto recyclers and wreckers such as Budget Auto Salvage and Just Jap come and go, Thomastown Auto Parts continues to develop through innovation and opening up new services to its customers.
The expansion into used cars with roadworthy certificates, buying cars, and car wreaks and developing a customer driven wrecking business have all provided customers with needed second hand cars and services.
Today the still family owned and operated business is managed by Spare Parts Manager Andrew Chatfield and Sales Manager Warren Chatfield.
The business continues with it innovation and new technologies development with the introduction of the ability for SMS mobile ordering of parts, the first free online parts locating internet site as well as further second hand car sales opportunities for customers.
